From a 2020 harvest base and a blend of the three traditional grape varieties, the Dans un Premier Temps Extra-Brut white Champagne is an utterly charming, delectable, and elegant opening wine. Fresh fruit aromas, pear, and white flowers accompany a lively, comfortable bubble with great energy, enhanced by 30% from a perpetual reserve started in 1986, adding depth and breadth to the wine. Ideal as an aperitif, it also pairs beautifully with a fine baked fish. Rated 91/100 by Parker.Vinification:
Vines averaging 45 years old, clay-limestone soils. Blend of 3 grape varieties: Chardonnay from Sézanne, Pinot Noir from Avenay Val d'Or and Pinot Meunier from Cuis.Hand harvested at optimum maturity. Very gentle pressing. First press. Alcoholic fermentation in stainless steel vats at 18°C. Aged 8 months on fine lees in barrels and stainless steel tanks. Blend of 70% 2020 base and 30% perpetual reserve started in 1986. Cellar aging. Disgorged in October 2023. Dosage: 3 g/l (Extra-Brut).
