The estate and the wine |
An iconic estate in Tuscany, at the heart of Chianti, Tenuta Tignanello is the lifeblood of the Antinori family, who have owned it since the 19th century. Spanning 130 hectares of hillsides, clinging to rocky and limestone soils, it produces some of the most sumptuous and coveted wines in Tuscany and the world.
It was here that the first Sangiovese aged in barrels, Tignanello, was born. In the early '70s, it was the first to be blended with Cabernet, and was reclassified as a table wine for breaking Chianti appellation rules. This pioneer of the 'Super Tuscans' is undoubtedly among the most sought-after wines globally, on par with Solaia, with which it shares its land and heritage. |

A blend of Sangiovese and Cabernet Sauvignon, the 2020 red Marchese Antinori Chianti Classico Riserva is an intense wine, driven by very expressive fruit, with fragrant flowers, fine spices, and red berries. These aromas extend into an extremely smooth and pure structure, with integrated and vibrant tannins that exude great energy. Aged in barrels without new oak, the wine offers a pure and radiant fruit profile, with subtle aromas lingering into a soft and silky finish. A quintessential Chianti! |
