The estate and the wine
The estate and the wine Awarded a star by the RVF Guide, Domaine Buisson-Charles is a hidden gem favored by connoisseurs. Managed organically by Catherine Buisson-Essa and Patrick Essa, with assistance from their son Louis, this 9-hectare vineyard features an extensive array of village wines and premier crus from the finest terroirs of Côte de Beaune.

Their relentless focus on achieving optimal fruit maturity, combined with sustainable practices, ancient vines, and distinguished terroirs—particularly in the premier crus of Meursault, Volnay, and Pommard—cements their rightful success. The winery is especially noted for its expert aging processes that highlight the grapes' perfect maturity, resulting in wines that are refined, elegant, and powerful.
Wine The 2022 white Meursault Vieilles Vignes, perfectly complemented by its oaky notes, delivers a concentrated, intense, and crystalline fruitiness on the palate, bursting with vitality. What stands out is this blend of substance and purity, a consistent approach to Meursault that neither forgets the finesse nor the precision of structure, culminating in a strikingly crisp finish. This is a beautiful wine for the table, ideally paired with baked turbot, for instance. Rated 94/100 by the selection committee.
Vinification Hand harvested, grapes sorted on tables in the plot, pneumatic pressing, static settling.
Vinification and ageing in barrels, 20% of which are new, for 17 months.
