The estate and the wine |
Situated in the heart of Pomerol, on a heritage of very old vines—right next to the legendary Château Trotanoy—Château Bourgneuf exemplifies exceptional refinement. Its subtle aromas and smooth, fresh finish immediately place this wine among the best in the appellation, thanks to a gentle, respectful vinification process that favors concrete tanks and a careful extraction method.
This rare level of excellence, rewarded with a star in the RVF Guide, became even more evident during our recent visit, where we reviewed both recent vintages and older ones, which have aged beautifully over time. |

In a refined and elegant style, the 2021 Red Pomerol Les Saisons de Bourgneuf opens with a fresh profile, showcasing a pure nose with hints of graphite and macerated red berries, along with well-integrated, subtle aging. The palate is precise, delicately infused, with minimal oak influence, featuring fine, silky tannins and a beautifully balanced character reminiscent of the 2014 or 2016 vintages. The overall result is highly successful and charming, perfect for enjoying in its youth. Rated 93/100 by the Selection Committee. |
