The estate and the wine
The estate and the wine A star of the Cahors appellation and awarded 2 stars by the RVF Guide, Château du Cèdre is a must for all lovers of fine wine. The Verhaeghe brothers masterfully transform their splendid limestone and red clay terroirs into wines of rare harmony. Their organically farmed, perfectly ripe grapes produce wines with incredible richness, precise tannins, and a majestic, textured mouthfeel.
Wine The 2022 Red Cahors Malbec bursts with sour cherry, dark fruits, and spice, offering a concentrated, ripe, and fresh nose with no oak influence. Wonderfully juicy, it’s an immediately enjoyable wine, with a lovely floral tone. The silky tannins and balanced juice reflect the modern style of the appellation. Decant and enjoy today. Rated 92/100 by the Committee.
Vinification Hand harvested. Vinification with indigenous yeasts. Vatting for 3 weeks. Aged for 18 months in foudres and 500-liter barrels.
