The estate and the wine |
Domaine des Chasseignes is a new Sancerre address, the brainchild of Aurore Dezat and David Girard. Only five years old, this young upstart offers a short, tightly focused range of wines, mainly for export, that you probably won't have the chance to taste.
The 9 hectares planted on three types of soil - white earth, pebbles and flint - produce mainly white wines, and a handful of reds, whose common DNA is finesse and purity. |

A perfect success, the 2022 white Sancerre delivers freshness with aromas of lemongrass, menthol, and white flowers. Here's a Sauvignon that expresses beautiful maturity without exuberance, deep and measured, in an elegant, refined style, totally just right. A great classic of the appellation. |
