The estate and the wine |
A rising star in Sancerre, Domaine des Chasseignes, led by Aurore Dezat and David Girard, is turning heads with its precision-crafted wines. This young estate, which has quickly made a name for itself over the past few vintages, focuses on a small, high-quality production, primarily destined for export—making it a rare find in France.
Working organically, they showcase the full diversity of Sancerre’s terroirs, from the chalky terre blanche to the stony caillotte and flinty silex soils. Their range is mostly white wines, with a handful of reds, all defined by their purity, finesse, and elegance. |

The 2022 Red Sancerre is a beautifully pure expression of Pinot Noir, with a fresh, refined character and seamlessly integrated oak. On the palate, it continues in the same inviting, fruit-forward style, offering a concentrated yet delicate profile. The silky tannins add structure, while a touch of crispness enhances its charm and vibrancy. A truly irresistible Pinot Noir, combining finesse and depth. Rated 93/100 by the Selection Committee. |
