The estate and the wine
The estate and the wine A true virtuoso of Jurançon, Franck Lihour has elevated Domaine Castéra to new heights. Drawing inspiration from the meticulous press techniques of Champagne’s finest houses, fermentations with indigenous yeasts and minimal sulphur, and ageing in a combination of oak barrels and sandstone eggs, he crafts wines of remarkable precision and luminous tension.

With experience honed at legendary estates such as the iconic Clos Joliette, Burgundy, and Château Suduiraut in Sauternes, Lihour brings unparalleled expertise to his work. Guided by organic and biodynamic principles, his approach is rooted in parcel-specific vinification, delivering wines of exceptional focus, clarity, and depth.
Wine Magnificent! The 2023 White Jurançon Sec XXIII bursts with vibrant tropical notes of Victoria pineapple and mango. The nose offers incredible intensity, while the palate follows through with richness, structure, and depth. Bold yet balanced by a fine acidity and fresh energy, this is a powerful wine with impressive complexity. Named Olivier Poussier’s Favorite Selection, rated 93/100.
