The estate and the wine |
The Domaine Couly-Dutheil, a flagship of the Chinon appellation, deserves recognition for its extraordinary commitment to quality. The estate owes its reputation primarily to two of the finest terroirs in Chinon: Clos de l'Olive and Clos de l'Echo. However, it also owes its unwavering confidence to its classic cuvées, which highlight the precision of Cabernet Franc when handled with care. |

Of great purity, marked by graphite and black fruits, beautiful smoky notes, and a touch of noble aging, the 2022 red Chinon Les Gravières celebrates Cabernet Franc with brilliance. The fleshy structure, perfect ripeness, and enveloped tannins make for a wine with a very seductive and high-class profile. Whether decanted or served in large glasses, it can be enjoyed immediately or aged for another 4 years. The Committee's Favorite, rated 92/100. |
