The estate and the wine |

Located at the heart of Saint-Emilion, right next to the iconic Cheval Blanc, Château Jean Faure is a singular estate. Converted to biodynamix agriculture, plowed by horseback, the vineyard is one of the best expressions of the Cabernet grape. Its owner Olivier Decelle does not skimp on any detail to ensure that this wine stands amongst the elite. There are even whispers that his first wine could easily compare in style and typicity to its illustrious neighbor…

The 2018 Red L’Ouverture Saint-Emilion from Jean Faure is an incredibly fresh and classy wine. Its aromas of ripe black fruits, delicate spices, and wood balance a racy and juicy palate, with a slight licorice finish. A perfectly balanced wine that can be enjoyed in its young years and in the next five years. A beautiful Saint-Emilion rated 93/100 by our Selection Committee. |

Hand harvested. Vinification in whole bunches in concrete and wooden vats, regular punching down. Aged for 16 months for 80% in wooden vats and 20% in barrels of one wine. |
