The estate and the wine
The estate and the wine An absolute reference of the Mâconnais region, elevated by the French press to the rank of "the greatest chardonnay winemaker in the world", Jean-Marie Guffens makes wines of the highest standards. His white wines rank alongside the most prestigious Burgundy estates and all wine lovers know the value of his bottles.

Defying time in the same way as the greatest Burgundies does, his wines are always at the top of the charts and this Mâcon-Pierreclos is once again no exception.
Wine Produced from several plots in the village of Pierreclos, on the highest clay and stony parts of the vineyard, which favors optimal ripeness of the grapes, the 2021 White Mâcon-Pierreclos once again delivers the quintessence of the Chardonnay grape. Spared by the spring frost, harvested slightly overripe to give it more body, the wine is made only from the first press juices, the richest and most qualitative of the bunch. Vinified in barrels without any new wood, it is a dense and structured wine, with a magnificent energy, adorned with a great freshness. On the nose, notes of exotic fruits, peach dominate, with a fine peppery touch. The palate is ample and rich, acidic and balanced. As always, Jean-Marie Guffens is a true master of his craft!
Vinification Hand harvested. Blend of several plots of the village of Pierreclos (vines over 50 years old) with low yields.
It is a unique selection of the first juice from the press. Vinification under wood for 8 months, on raw lees for 7 months.
