The estate and the wine
The estate and the wine Château La Mission Haut-Brion is located directly across from the legendary Haut-Brion in the heart of Pessac-Léognan. Both iconic estates share the same terroir and winemaking teams. While Haut-Brion may exhibit a greater complexity in style as it ages, the sensuality of La Mission's wines often gives it an edge in its younger years, a superiority recognized by the majority of critics.
Wine The Château La Mission Haut-Brion Pessac-Léognan Rouge 2018 is broad, full-bodied, and explosive, with remarkable fleshiness and smoothness that assert themselves with elegance. Fans of the style will be delighted, especially since it is destined for long-term aging. Rated 99/100 by RVF, 96/100 by Bettane+Desseauve, and 99/100 by Parker.
Vinification Hand harvested from September 10 to October 2, 2018. Aged in barrels, 62% of which are new. Bottled from May 11 to 13, 2020.
