The estate and the wine
The estate and the wine A leading name in Châteauneuf-du-Pape, Raymond Usseglio & Fils is among the region’s most sought-after estates. Renowned for producing wines of remarkable depth and balance, it consistently stands out, achieving a level of refinement and reliability that sets it apart from many of its peers.

The estate has long been a favorite of Robert Parker, earning consistent praise for its exceptional quality. Demand is so high that each vintage sells out quickly, leaving little opportunity for those who don’t act fast.
Wine The 2021 Red Lirac Charles 1er is crafted from ancient Grenache vines complemented by Mourvèdre and Syrah. It reveals elegant floral aromas alongside a subtle smoky nuance. On the palate, the wine is concentrated yet balanced, with vibrant freshness that enhances its full-bodied character. Best served slightly chilled at 12–14°C, it earned an impressive 93/100 from the Selection Committee.
Vinification Hand harvested. 70% of the grapes are harvested whole. Fermented and aged for 20 months in concrete vats.
