The estate and the wine
The estate and the wine Vega Sicilia holds a unique place among the world’s greatest wines—a legend shaped by its land and its family, coveted by wine lovers across the globe.

These vineyards, nourished by the Duero River and tempered by a harsh climate, are meticulously tended to produce one of the finest wines in existence. The Álvarez family has crafted an icon that unites terroir, time, and human dedication in a pursuit of timeless excellence.

Único, Valbuena, Alión, Pintia, Macán, and Oremus form an extraordinary lineage where nothing is left to chance. Barrels are crafted on-site, ageing is exceptionally long, and entire vintages are sometimes set aside—all in the relentless pursuit of perfection.
Wine A masterful blend of the world’s finest expertise, the 2019 Toro Pintia Red reflects the uncompromising style of the Álvarez family. Sourced from old-vine Tempranillo, this rich, dense, and expressive wine comes from a hot, dry vintage, prompting a shift towards stainless steel for 15% of the ageing process to preserve freshness and purity of fruit.

Generous and concentrated, it reveals layered flavours of red berries, pomegranate, and spice, supported by elegant, perfectly polished tannins. A seamless balance of power and finesse, built for long-term ageing. Rated 94/100 by Parker.
Vinification Hand harvested. Cold maceration for 5 days. Aged for 12 months in French and American oak barrels.
