Nestled in the heart of the Beaujolais terroirs on the steep, awe-inspiring slopes of Le Perréon, Domaine de La Madone is a hidden gem producing wines of exceptional stature, thanks to the talent of Bruno, Olivier, and Frédéric Bererd.

The estate practices heroic organic viticulture, crafting sincere and striking wines with precision through tank ageing and Burgundian vinification methods. The modesty of the three brothers is in stark contrast to the outstanding quality of their wines, which are offered at remarkably accessible prices.

Their Jean Baptiste Bererd cuvée, produced only in the finest vintages, transcends all expectations for its appellation. A wine built for ageing, it rewards patience—as demonstrated by the 2009 vintage, which received a perfect 100/100 six years after its release.

The 2023 Red Beaujolais-Villages Jean Baptiste Bererd easily matches the level of a Beaujolais Cru and surpasses the expectations of its appellation. Vinified exclusively in concrete tanks with no oak influence, it reveals vibrant aromas of stone fruits with a touch of black pepper. The palate is perfectly balanced, with a refined, velvety texture and tannins that combine silkiness with precision. This is a Gamay of exceptional class, undeniably built for ageing. A remarkable wine to cellar and enjoy in its prime. Rated 94-95/100 by the Selection Committee.
