Wine:

Beautifully extracted and deeply colored, the 2020 Red Pernand-Vergelesses 1er Cru Les Fichots presents intense tones of macerated fruits and spices, complemented by subtle oak. The palate is dense, with tannins that are particularly well highlighted, and it will benefit from some cellar aging to refine further. The wine remains true to the vintage, which was especially successful and generous. Best enjoyed over a decade. Rated 94/100 by the Selection Committee.

Vinification:

Hand-harvested, long vinification in wooden vats with regular punching of the cap and temperature control.
Aged in oak barrels, 25% of which are new, for 15 months.

Color:

Deep red, almost black, with violet highlights.

Nose:

Very fruity, with notes of macerated fruit, spices and fine touches of oak.

Palate:

Dense and generous, with beautifully ripe flavors of fruit, this cuvée with its prominent tannins needs some cellaring before it can be fully appreciated.

Temperature:

Serve between 16 and 18°C.

Food and wine pairing:

Duck, red meats, game dishes, venison.

Cellar aging:

From now until 2033.
