Domaine de Tournon - Heathcote - Lady's Lane Vineyard - Red - 2015

Wine:

The 2015 red Lady's Lane Vineyard is a great wine. Victoria's shale and clay soils are the most favorable for producing fine wines that age well. Michel Chapoutier was right once again, and this Syrah delivers a concentrate of spices, with incense, and delicate notes of red fruits. Concentration, smooth tannins, persistence, and finesse form a Syrah wine that combines richness and delicacy. An undeniable success!

Vinification:

Hand-harvested, totally de-stemmed, fermented in concrete vats and macerated for 4 to 6 weeks, gently extracted by punching down, aged for 14 months in French oak barrels (10 to 15% new).

Color:

Bright ruby red.

Nose:

Aromas of red berries and redcurrant mixed with spicy notes, leather and incense.

Palate:

Concentrated and long-lasting, this cuvée showcases elegance with its smooth tannins, revealing impressive finesse.

Temperature:

Serve between 16 and 18°C.

Food and wine pairing:

Ribs of beef, rack of lamb with thyme.
