Wine:

A Selection Committee favorite rated 94/100, the 2021 Red Moulin-à-vent Les Caves Très Vieille Vigne is built for aging. Crafted out of 80 year old vines on granite slopes, it is a dense and concentrated Gamay, with very pure aromas of blackcurrant and spices. The grapes are picked at perfect maturity, creating a wine of great elegance that will age beautifully. A model of its appellation for sure.

Vinification:

Hand harvested, vinified in whole bunches, matured in concrete tanks for 6 months and in bottle for 4 months.

Color:

Dark garnet red.

Nose:

Fragrances of blackcurrant underlined by spicy notes.

Palate:

Dense and ripe with full flavors of fruit, this wine of great elegance has a pure and concentrated palate.

Temperature:

Serve between 16 and 18°C.

Food and wine pairing:

Chicken breasts with parsley, veal chops parmentières, rabbit with mustard.

Founded in 2015 by Anita Khunel, Domaine Anita seduces with its wines of ideal precision and balance. The winemaker is no novice, having trained at her family estate for many years before taking the path of independence. This former champion road cyclist is also a passionate and adventurous person, ready to tame the Gamay grape variety in the best areas of the Beaujolais crus, including Moulin-à-Vent.
