Mâconnais maestro Jean-Marie Guffens ventures into the world of Sauternes, and the results are nothing short of spectacular. Right from the start in Bordeaux, he has positioned himself above the crowd, outpacing many classified growths in terms of precision and purity.
In the Barsac region, neighboring prestigious 1st Growth Classed estates like Climens and Coutet, Château Closiot stands as an exceptional sweet wine producer, showing equal promise for its dry counterparts. Jean-Marie Guffens, with a hint of playful wit, has simply named his cuvée "C," a nod to the iconic Yquem, Suduiraut, and Rieussec.
