Wine:

The 2018 Red Saint-Emilion Les Chênes de Macquin is no exception to the chateau's style, which has forged an endless series of excellent vintages for nearly 30 years. Produced with the same exacting standards as the grand vin, it takes on its precious assets - finesse, elegance, precision - in a softer, more immediate style. At this price, it is a bargain, an exclusive offer reserved for members of Vente à la Propriété.

Vinification:

Hand harvested. Vinification by plot in wooden and concrete vats. Aging on fine lees, a first racking is done after 6 to 10 months and a second one one year later. Aged for 12 months in barrels that have already contained one wine.

Color:

Bright intense red.

Nose:

Beautiful aromas of red and black fruits with delicate spicy accents on a lively freshness.

Palate:

Silky and pure, the first taste is straightforward and juicy. A nice structure reveals well-integrated tannins and unfolds a fresh power with beautiful elegance.

Temperature:

Serve at 16 to 18°C.

Lamb chop with rosemary, duck leg and morel sauce, beef entrecote and pan-fried old vegetables.
