Wine:

Of great distinction, the 2004 Sauternes Château Suduiraut delivers exquisite citrus and ripe fruit flavors with a slight, classic bitterness. It is also a tribute to the Sémillon grape, with a richly concentrated sweet wine, caressing notes of honey, praline, and a delightful hint of spice. The finish is remarkably long, with a lingering lemon zest that seems endless, and the balance is impeccable. After 20 years of maturation, it reveals itself as both sublime and remarkably fresh! This is a truly grand Sauternes with a refined complexity, ready to be enjoyed with spicy dishes, Roquefort cheese, or a lemon meringue pie.

Vinification:

Meticulously hand-harvested from September 29 to November 4. Aged 50% in new barrels and 50% in barrels that previously held wine for 16 months.
Residual sugars: 134 g/l (sweet wine).

Color:

Intense golden yellow with amber highlights, luminous.

Nose:

Delicate and subtle, with magnificent complexity and notes of beeswax, honey, candied fruit and dried apricot, underlined by a spicy touch of cinnamon and saffron.

Palate:

Rich and suave, the palate is expressive, releasing flavors of yellow peach and candied orange, with a persistent finish and incredible concentration.

Temperature:

Serve between 10 and 12°C.

Food and wine pairing:

Foie gras, pineapple carpaccio, tarte tatin, blue-veined cheeses (Roquefort, Fourme d'Ambert, etc.)

Cellar aging:

From now until 2030

It stands as one of the symbols of Sauternes. As a Premier Cru Classé, Château Suduiraut shines at the pinnacle of the appellation. The meticulous cultivation of the vineyard and the comprehensive terroir of gravel and clay mold wines of exemplary stature, marrying finesse with a rich expression of aromas. Often more powerful than its counterparts, Suduiraut is marked by a complexity and exquisite refinement that only grow more pronounced with time.

It is one of the few estates that can, like Yquem, capitalize on the diversity of its plots, offering a complex character and an impressive richness in its sweet wines. With time, it borders on the sublime…
