This discreet château, a Saint-Emilion 1er Cru Classé, continues to establish itself as one of Bordeaux's icons, and Trotte Vieille 2023 is once again making a name for itself this year, confidently ranking among the most captivating on its shore. Rated 95-96/100 RVF, it appears highly civilized, driven by Cabernet Franc (53%), part of which comes from old vines, which shapes the blend with great elegance. Its great refinement does not exclude its intensity and breed, and delivers a smooth framework that stretches crescendo to a chalky finish, a perfect expression of the plateau.
The new winery has undoubtedly contributed to this irresistible rise in power, but all the work carried out by the teams over the years, both in the vineyards and in the cellar, have shaped this highly promising character with the finest of materials. The 11 hectares, now precisely sectioned, are mirrored in the cellar, vinified with ferocious precision. The 2023 vintage marks the triumph of great Cabernets, sparkling as never before, and the supremacy of these magical limestone soils over the château's historic vineyards.
An impressive comeback, confirmed more than ever, not to be missed!
