At the gates of Clos de Vougeot, leaning against the northern wall of the enclosure, in the exact extension of the middle part of the Grand Cru, the 2020 red Vougeot 1er Cru Les Cras enjoys a privileged location. These 67 ares of light, sandy soil produce a floral, airy wine that will age well, and that reveals all the finesse of Burgundy, with its complexity and nuanced flavors.Vinification:
Hand-picked on August 29, 2020 (fruit day). 12% whole grapes, not crushed and vatted by gravity. No yeasting or enzyming. Cold pre-fermentation maceration (12-15°C) for 5 days. Total maceration 23 days. 2 punchings of the cap during vatting, then one light pumping-over per day until the end of vatting. Pressing with a vertical press. Aged 15 months in barrels, 35% of which are new (origin of wood: Cîteaux forest). No fining, light filtration. Bottling on December 6, 2021 (fruit day) for magnums and December 8 (root day) for bottles. Production limited to 2622 bottles and 66 magnums.Parcel of 0.6738 ha, planted: 1983/1984/1985/1986, uprooted and replanted in 2012. Organic farming: Ecocert approval received in 1999. Biodynamic agriculture since 2001, without certification.
