Wine:

Driven by the richness of the vintage, the 2019 White Meursault is a beautifully structured wine, offering a refined, elongated palate with remarkable precision and a subtle, almost tannic texture. The estate vinifies each parcel separately but bottles all under a single Meursault label, making this an exceptional synthesis of both the domaine’s terroirs and the unmistakable Coche-Dury style. Rated 93/100 by RVF.

Vinification:

Hand harvested. Traditional vinification, pressing, regular stirring of the lees during barrel ageing, 50% new wood each year.

Temperature:

Between 10 and 12°C

Food and wine pairing:

Bresse poultry in a cream sauce with morel mushrooms, veal blanquette, grilled lobster with tarragon butter, scallop cassolette with curry, noble fish.

Cellar aging:

From now until 2030, and even longer for enthusiasts.

An undisputed star of Meursault and holder of 4 stars in the RVF Guide, Domaine Coche-Dury continues its relentless pursuit of excellence. With just 10 hectares, this family-run estate has become a global icon of Burgundy, renowned for the distinctive smoky notes born from lees aging reduction.

Now led by Raphaël Coche-Dury, the domaine is undergoing a subtle yet fascinating stylistic evolution. Seeking greater texture and structure in his whites, Raphaël has shifted the approach to lees aging, moving away from the pronounced smoky reduction that once defined the wines. The result? Whites of remarkable density, purity, and complexity, though they now demand at least 15 years of patience to reach their full potential.

At their peak, these wines reveal unparalleled depth, sapidity, and length—a testament to the very pinnacle of what Chardonnay can achieve.
