Bordering the La Tâche terroir from the lower part of the parcel, the 2021 red Vosne-Romanée 1er Cru Les Chaumes is a very pure wine, a fine and ripe Pinot Noir that's quintessentially Vosne. The oak is present, and the wine is still very young, but it's enriched with very elegant tannins. It's a wine to start opening in 2025 and then to enjoy leisurely over the next ten years. Rated 94/100 by the Committee.Vinification:
Hand-harvested, totally destemmed, 12 to 14-day vatting period.Free-run wine and first press are blended, settled and put into barrels. Aged in barrels, with 35% new wood, for 15 to 18 months.
