The wines of René Barbier from Clos Mogador, true gems of Priorat and Montsant, are among Spain’s finest. Drawn to this breathtaking amphitheater descending towards the Siurana River, the Barbier family has firmly established itself as one of the country’s most respected names. Their journey began in 1979 on these remote Catalonian lands, one of the oldest wine-growing regions in the Iberian Peninsula.

With high altitude, cool climate, and varied exposures, their iconic cuvées have become cult classics—powerful, majestic reds with a Burgundian soul. Trained in Burgundy and with experience at Pétrus, René Barbier has put Priorat on the world stage, elevating his wines to the ranks of Spain’s elite, alongside Vega Sicilia, Pingus, and Mas la Plana.

From exceptional schist and quartz soils, this legendary estate produces wines of remarkable finesse, consistently awarded top Parker scores.
