The introductory wine from Tenuta San Guido, the Red 2022 Le Difese IGT Toscana, offers a glimpse into the estate's exceptional craftsmanship. A blend of Sangiovese and Cabernet Sauvignon, it opens with a refined and fresh nose, featuring delicate aromas of graphite and dried rose, accented by a subtle balsamic note. The expertly managed aging process allows for a vibrant freshness to shine through, which is also reflected on the palate, where the wine displays great elegance and very fine tannins. With an impressive aging potential of 5 to 8 years, it was awarded a 93/100 by the Selection Committee.

A leading figure in the world of "Super Tuscans," Tenuta San Guido is best known for one of its iconic wines, Sassicaia, which has forever left its mark on the history of Italian wine. Alongside Ornellaia, Solaia, and Ca'Marcanda, it reigns at the top of the global wine hierarchy.

A passionate lover of Bordeaux, owner Nicolo Incisa della Rocchetta achieved the unthinkable in the early 1970s: he proved to the world that he could rival the greatest Médocs. The first commercial vintage, 1968, launched a series of magnificent wines, led by Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc, breaking with the traditions of the time—and so, the legend was born!
