Wine:

Characterized by a well-defined, subtle, and graceful texture, the 2022 red Arbois Trousseau Vieilles Vignes is a delicate wine. With 50% whole clusters, it gains additional finesse, offering aromas of black cherry, crushed strawberry, and a refreshing hint of mint. The silky texture and precision of the fruit showcase a pure expression of the Trousseau grape.

Vinification:

Hand harvested in the morning. 50% whole grapes. Spontaneous fermentation in stainless-steel vats using indigenous yeasts, 20-day sulfur-free maceration. Aged for 10 months in stainless steel vats. Production of 3,500 bottles.

Localities: North side of Sauvagny and Le Clouzot (Montigny). Jura clay and limestone soils. Vines planted between 1962 and 1970, organically grown and undergoing certification since 2020.

Temperature:

Serve between 14 and 16°C in a large glass.

Food and wine pairing:

Aperitif, Comté quiche, brioche sausage, pâté en croûte, Morteau sausage, veal chop with porcini mushrooms, spit-roasted poultry.

From now until 2030, and beyond for enthusiasts.

The Fumey-Chatelain estate, an artisanal estate in Montigny-lès-Arsures near Arbois, has become a favorite among Jura wine enthusiasts. Known for its exciting cuvées that naturally and elegantly express the Arbois identity, this estate is a must-visit for wine lovers.

Now managed by Marin Fumey, the son, and practicing organic viticulture, the vineyard is making remarkable strides. This year, it made a notable entry in the RVF Guide, recognized for its wines that exude clarity and cheerfulness, crafted from ripe, noble grapes.
