Wine:

Balancing grace and power, the 2022 Red Terrasses du Larzac Les Ouvrées is a textbook expression of this complex terroir. A blend of Grenache, Syrah, and Mourvèdre, it was aged for 22 months in large foudres and demi-muids—containers that gently enhance the wine without overshadowing it. The nose reveals ripe, juicy notes of blackcurrant, blueberry, and licorice, while the palate delivers exceptional depth and balance. With a rich, fleshy texture and impressive structure, it finishes with silky tannins and remarkable persistence. Generous, velvety, and elegantly crafted, this wine promises at least a decade of aging potential. A Selection Committee favorite, rated 94/100.

Le Clos de la Barthassade is raising the bar for Languedoc wines. Over recent vintages, Hélène and Guillaume Baron have brought a fresh perspective to the Terrasses du Larzac, producing wines with precision, balance, and remarkable freshness.

Their 13 hectares, located in prime sites across Montpeyroux, Saint-Saturnin, and Jonquières, are farmed biodynamically with meticulous attention to detail. Drawing on Guillaume’s experience in Burgundy with Sylvain Pataille and his time at Trévallon, they create wines that are approachable, vibrant, and driven by a true sense of place.
