Wine:

Delicately floral with a fine touch of wisteria, the 2020 Argos white Vin de France is an elegant wine that unfolds with finesse. Its taut, finely balanced juice sits right on the edge of ripeness, preserving the crisp, vibrant character of the grape—a real advantage, especially in this particularly sunny vintage, where bright fruit aromas are beautifully counterbalanced by refreshing acidity. This perfect harmony, both smooth and precise, is enhanced by subtle bitterness, making it an ideal match for seafood and a delight to enjoy over the next three years.

Vinification:

Hand-harvested from 7 plots ranging in size from 0.07 ha to 0.65 ha, giving a total of 2.40 ha, fermented in vats and 400-litre and 600-litre barrels (one plot = 1 or more vats and barrels), vinified and matured in separate containers, aged for 12 to 18 months in vats and 400-litre and 600-litre barrels, blended at the end of the maturing process.

The vines, plants and soil are cultivated according to organic and biodynamic principles, without certification.

Color:

Pale, bright yellow.

Nose:

A fresh, highly floral nose with a hint of wisteria.

Palate:

This cuvée offers a ripe, taut profile with an almost mature edge, preserving the grape’s sharp character—a real asset in this sunny vintage. A sublime wine, perfectly balanced and supported by fine, appealing bitterness.

Temperature:

Serve between 10 and 12°C.

Food and wine pairing:

For the table, with shellfish in a delicate lemon butter sauce, fish, shellfish, grilled sea bass, etc.

Cellar aging:

From now until 2027

Les Poëte is making a name for itself with a meteoric rise, earning 2 stars from the RVF (La Revue du Vin de France, France’s leading wine magazine). Its wines now stand among the most ambitious in the Loire Valley. Guillaume Sorbe’s determination to craft outstanding white wines in Quincy and Reuilly is undeniable—no other cuvée from these appellations achieves such precision and depth.

A former sommelier who honed his skills in some of the finest restaurants, Sorbe returned to his family’s land with a clear vision: to produce wines of the highest caliber. Working with just over six hectares, he applies a meticulous, almost garden-like approach to viticulture, where every detail is carefully considered in pursuit of excellence.

Named "Winemaker of the Year" by RVF a few vintages ago, Sorbe was later excluded from the appellation system and chose to classify his wines as Vin de France. Yet his philosophy remains unchanged—his white wines continue to rank among the Loire Valley’s most remarkable.
