Magnifique témoignage de l’excellence Guigal, le Château d’Ampuis Côte Rôtie Rouge 2019 couronne la décennie de sa complexité. Adossée à de très beaux arômes de fruits noirs, d’épices, de fumée et d’herbes sèches, elle s’inscrit dans un registre délicat et soyeux, tout en affirmant une puissance magnifique, avec une sève concentrée et riche, toujours bordée de tanins soyeux et élégants. La persistance est phénoménale ! Encore une réussite pour cette cuvée culte de la Maison. Noté 94-96/100 Parker.

Vinification:

Harvested by hand, vatted for 4 weeks, vinified in stainless steel vats, temperature-controlled, aged for 38 months in new oak barrels.

Color:

Dark, intense red with violet highlights.

Nose:

Scents of black fruits and dried herbs mixed with spicy notes.

Palate:

Powerful and silky with full-bodied fruit, this cuvée of pure concentration delivers a rich, delicate juice of great elegance.

Temperature:

Serve between 16 and 18°C.

Food and wine pairing:

Game, pheasant, noble cuts of beef grilled with truffles, black pudding and grilled eggplants.

Cellar aging:

From now until 2035, and even longer for enthusiasts.

Château d'Ampuis indeed rivals the best Côte Rôtie wines, on the level of the famous Landonne, Mouline, and Turque cuvées. This one assembles 7 exceptional terroirs on the two mythical slopes, Brune and Blonde, with vines that are at least 50 years old.
