AWARDS

Estate rated 1 star in the Guide des Meilleurs Vins de France 2025 (RVF)
Wine rated 93/100 by our Committee!

Wine:

Expertly aged in barrels and shaped by the 2020 vintage’s optimal ripeness, the Cahors Cuvée Particulière Red reveals refined graphite notes and the vibrant freshness of its terroir. Pure and meticulously crafted, it delivers a juicy, full-bodied structure with well-balanced tannins, complemented by subtle oak that adds depth without overpowering the wine. Made from 90% Malbec, sourced from the estate’s oldest vines, this is a Cahors built for aging. Give it another two years to pair with a ribeye steak or a classic beef bourguignon, and it will evolve beautifully over the next decade. Decant for an hour or serve in large glasses. Rated 93/100 by the Selection Committee.

Vinification:

Traditional vinification and punching of the cap, 25 days in vats with temperature control. Aged for 12 to 14 months, 50% in oak tuns and 50% in barrels aged 2 to 4 years.

Purple red with vermilion highlights.

A standout name in Cahors and a driving force behind the appellation’s revival, Château Lamartine (1 star in the French wine guide RVF) offers a beautifully refined expression of Malbec, organically grown and far from the bold, rustic styles of the past.

Its wines showcase remarkable finesse, embodying a fresh, modern take on Cahors that continues to impress. Now led by the new generation, Lise and Benjamin Gayraud, the estate is redefining what Malbec can be—elegant, balanced, and irresistibly seductive.
