Wine:

Adjacent to the Chablis Premier Cru Montée de Tonnerre and facing the Grand Cru Blanchot, the 2022 White Chablis Bréchain Old Vines offers a captivating aromatic profile, with refined notes of seashells, chalk, and a delicate floral touch, complemented by perfectly ripened white fruit. On the palate, it is both structured and generous, reflecting the richness of the vintage and the depth brought by old vines. Its precise minerality is balanced by an elegant weight and a smooth, rounded character, making it an excellent choice for pairing at the table. Already immensely enjoyable, it has earned a Selection Committee favourite rating of 93/100.

Vinification:

Hand harvested. 100% alcoholic and malolactic fermentation in stainless steel tanks. Aged on fine lees for 10 months.

Beautifully intense gold.

Nose:

Beautiful, classic Chablis aromatics, the Chardonnay is surrounded by shell notes, chalk, floral touches, and ripe white fruit.

Palate:

Both precise and full-bodied, with shimmering notes of ripe white fruit, this cuvée offers a silky, refined texture, perfectly suited to fine dining.

Temperature:

Serve between 10 and 12°C.

Food and wine pairing:

Pan-fried frogs, seafood or a salmon steak with Béarnaise sauce, marinated, smoked or grilled fish, tasting of fresh and mature goat or cow cheeses.

Cellar aging:

From now until 2029, and even longer for enthusiasts.
