Wine:

From very old vines, aged 70 to 85 years, the 2020 red Châteauneuf-du-Pape Bargeton impresses with its captivating aromas of stone fruits, sugared strawberries, cherry compote, and hints of cocoa—embodying the ripe, generous style of the 2020 vintage. The palate is rich and full-bodied, with velvety, supple tannins that already highlight its maturity and depth. Subtly aged, it’s ready to enjoy now or can be cellared for six to ten years, or more. This beautifully crafted wine showcases Grenache as the dominant grape. Rated 93-95/100 by Parker!

Vinification:

Hand harvested, 100% whole grapes. Maceration for approximately 20 days. Aged 90% in concrete vats and 10% in Burgundy barrels.

Dark, brilliant red.

Nose:

Bewitching aromas of pit fruits, strawberries with sugar, compote of Morello cherry, underlined by notes of cocoa, a ripe, generous profile.

Palate:

The palate is full and generous, with velvety, supple tannins that already impress with their maturity and depth. Its subtle aging allows it to be enjoyed right now.

Temperature:

Serve between 14 and 16°C.

Food and wine pairing:

Seven-hour lamb, beef bourguignon, roast chicken or coq au vin, venison or rabbit stew.

Cellar aging:

From now until 2029 and beyond for enthusiasts.
