AWARDS

Wine rated 95/100 by Parker and 93/100 by our Committee!

Wine:

An ode to Mourvèdre (70%), balanced by Grenache and Syrah, the 2022 Châteauneuf-du-Pape La Part des Anges Red continues the estate’s commitment to whole-cluster vinification in new demi-muids and large oak casks—a technique introduced last year to deliver a more precise, integrated oak influence from the wine’s youth. The result is seamless: from the first pour, it reveals sumptuous aromas of roasted notes, dark chocolate, wild herbs, and black olive tapenade, with layers of blackberry compote and exotic spice. On the palate, it’s rich and expansive, with impressive depth and structure. Firm, powerful tannins frame a complex core, lifted by touches of thyme and bay leaf that bring a savoury southern accent. Outstanding length, remarkable poise, and the kind of ageing potential only the finest cuvées can claim. Rated 95/100 by The Wine Advocate.
