Founded in 2009 on the slopes of Vergisson and Davayé, Domaine David Bienfait embodies the passion and dedication of this young winemaker. With just 6 hectares, he brings out the full beauty of southern Burgundy, producing wines from Pouilly, Saint-Véran, and Mâcon-Villages.

From young vines beautifully exposed to views of Mont Blanc, the 2023 White Mâcon-Villages showcases lovely ripeness and the freshness of a skillfully crafted Chardonnay, untouched by oak. Subtle floral and mineral notes create a fresh, finely etched profile with a touch of bright acidity, making it a delight to enjoy right now. A prime example of a well-balanced Mâcon-Villages, perfect with seafood or as an aperitif. Rated 92/100 by the Selection Committee.

From limestone-rich hillside vineyards, the 2023 White Saint-Véran Clos des Poncetys is a wonderful showcase of this chalky terroir. The nose is both ripe and floral, with just a hint of oak that’s already beautifully integrated, bringing out a lovely mineral quality. On the palate, it’s everything you’d want in a Saint-Véran—balanced, precise, and finely tuned, with a vibrant acidity that adds just the right amount of lift. This is a wine that’s been crafted with real care and respect for its terroir, and it’ll only get better over the next 6 to 8 years. Rated 92/100 by the Selection Committee.

From south-facing old vines planted in 1940 on the Vergisson terroir, the 2023 White Pouilly-Fuissé gains an undeniable extra dimension. Aged for a year in barrels, it beautifully captures the ripe character of the harvest, with a dominant minerality, a hint of creamy vanilla, and fresh, lively citrus notes. On the palate, it reveals richness and depth without excess, striking a perfect balance with just the right concentration and a refined touch of bitterness on the finish.
