Wine:

With its fresh, crisp flavors, the 2021 white Pessac-Léognan La Croix de Carbonnieux offers a beautiful texture, fullness, and delicate aromas of white fruits and citrus. Suave, pure, and delicate, with an exquisite minerality, it combines vigor and perfume in perfect balance with brilliant energy. This a beautiful bottle to enjoy today with a sole meunière or tartar of sea bream.

Vinification:

Hand harvested with careful selection of the berries. Pressing, cold settling. Fermentation and maturation in barrels for 9 months, 25% of which is new wood.

Color:

Bright pale yellow.

Nose:

Aromas of exotic fruits, grapefruit and candied citrus.

Palate:

Fresh with pure and crunchy notes of citrus and white fruits. We appreciate its lightness and its delicately mineral finish.

Temperature:

Serve at 10 to 12°C.

Food and wine pairing:

Salmon tartar and fresh mango, fillet of sea bream with citrus fruits.

An idol of Pessac-Léognan, Château Carbonnieux is one of the few châteaux whose reputation has been built around its white wine. Extremely delicate and elegant, it is undeniably one of the greatest of the Bordeaux vineyards.


Nowadays, the estate is at its peak and excels in both colors, with wines of remarkable intensity and aging potential. The regularity of the estate is rare enough to be underlined and whatever the vintage, Carbonnieux always expresses the best characteristics of the Léognan terroir.
