Wine:
With its muscular, nervous flesh and crisp tannins, the 2017 red Nuits-Saint-Georges 1er Cru Aux Murgers is convincingly ripe and smoky, with hints of blackcurrant and black fruit. Suave and elegant, it has a lot of finesse and a very seductive sapiness, primed by careful oak and an intense finish.Vinification:
Hand harvested. Vines planted between 1965 and 1972. Low-intervention vinification. Long maturation in mostly new barrels.
Temperature:
Serve between 14 and 16°C in a large glass.Food and wine pairing:
Veal quasi en cocotte, roast Landes chicken, pan-fried veal sweetbreads, matured farmhouse Saint Nectaire cheese.Cellar aging:
From now until 2033, and even longer for enthusiasts.
Located in Vosne-Romanée, Domaine Méo-Camuzet is one of the jewels of the Côte-de-Nuits, boasting an impressive collection of crus whose names are the stuff of dreams: Richebourg, Gevrey-Chambertin, Vosne-Romanée, Clos de Vougeot, Corton, Echezeaux, Chambolle-Musigny...
Trained by Henri Jayer, Jean-Nicolas Méo has been at the helm of this benchmark address since 1989, whose qualities are widely recognized and whose every bottle is snapped up by collectors. The wines are pure marvels, great perfumed Burgundies, polished by luxurious ageing, with admirable body and depth of texture, and capable of gaining in depth with age.
These serious, meticulously-crafted wines are now at their very best, and should be grabbed at once!
