Wine:

True to its Côte de Nuits origins, the 2018 Red Charmes-Chambertin Grand Cru opens with a pure, precise nose of ripe fruit, subtly accented by refined notes of spice and oak. The palate is dense and expansive, combining freshness with depth. Silky, finely structured tannins shape the wine's balanced profile, underscoring its Grand Cru pedigree. Already drinking beautifully, it also has the potential to evolve gracefully over the next 5 to 8 years.

Vinification:

Hand harvested, 100% destemmed. Vatting for 19 days with daily punching of the cap. Slow, gentle pressing. Aged for 16 to 18 months in French oak barrels, 60% of which are new and 40% one-wine barrels. Production of 6,345 bottles.
Plot measuring 81 a and 23 ca, planted in 1925, 1930, 1959 and 1999.

Deep ruby, intense and brilliant, with hints of carmine garnet.

Nose:

Precise and focused, this cuvée reveals ripe Pinot Noir aromas with subtle notes of spice and a hint of toasted almond.

Palate:

The palate is dense and layered, offering freshness and structure in perfect balance. Fine, silky tannins provide a smooth, seamless texture, making it a wine with the depth to age gracefully for 5 to 8 years.

Temperature:

Serve between 14 and 16°C in a large glass.

Food and wine pairing:

Roast rib of beef, veal medallion with foie gras, duck stuffed with morel mushrooms, Époisses.

Cellar aging:

From now until 2032.
