Wine:

The 2023 white IGP Vin des Allobroges Argile is a blend of Jacquère, Chardonnay, Mondeuse Blanche, and a touch of Roussanne. Right away, you’ll appreciate the freshness and minerality that set the tone for this cuvée, as if you can feel the brightness of stone within a floral ensemble of great purity. The palate is salivating, fine, and airy, with a pure and elegant profile, free from ostentatious aging, allowing the essence of each grape variety to shine through. This cuvée took time to assert and develop complexity, but today it stands among the great wines of the estate. In our opinion, this is the finest Argile Blanc ever produced! A remarkable bottle for an aperitif, paired with alpine cheeses like a crumbly tomme, or perfect alongside perch, fera, or a butter-fried trout. A Committee favorite, rated 94/100.

With 2 stars in the RVF Guide, Domaine des Ardoisières perfectly embodies the qualitative revival and ambition of Savoie.

Since 2008, Brice Omont has been the passionate artisan behind this remarkable estate, tirelessly working on the steep slopes of the Tarentaise. Biodynamic viticulture here is nothing short of heroic, with gradients reaching up to 70%, extremely low yields, and wines crafted primarily from co-planted and blended grape varieties.

The effort involved is immense and commands respect. In just under two decades, Brice Omont has elevated his estate to the pinnacle of Savoie winemaking, with a reputation that now extends far beyond the Alps.

These wines, incredibly original, are framed by expert aging and exhibit exemplary finesse and complexity. Highly sought after by connoisseurs, their value is skyrocketing—these are wines you must try at least once.
