Wine:

Rated 96-98/100 by Parker, the 2020 red Napa Valley Cabernet-Sauvignon arguably delivers the most impressive version of the varietal! Intense and richly colored, it exudes fantastic aromas of ripe fruits, blackberries with hints of spices, cinnamon, and lavender. A festival of aromas continues on the palate, in a pure and refined structure, masterfully encased, offering juicy and rich fruit surrounded by finely defined tannins. Everything is precise and intricately detailed, with extraordinary energy and freshness, and of course, a staggering persistence!

Vinification:

Hand-picked from September 10 to 24, 2020. Fermentation in vats, with gentle, balanced extraction thanks to the excellent level of ripeness of the skins and pips. Aged for 18 months in a combination of French oak barrels (55%) and Austrian oak foudres (45%). Very limited production.

Certified organic by CCOF and biodynamic by Demeter.

Temperature:

Serve between 14 and 16°C in a large glass

Food and wine pairing:

7-hour lamb shoulder confit, grilled prime rib with marrow, duck breast and beet confit with savory, roast pigeon with porcini mushrooms, mature cheeses.

Cellar aging:

From now until 2042, and even longer for enthusiasts.

Araujo Estates Wines stands as one of the jewels of Napa Valley. Cherished by Domaines Artémis (Pinault family) for the past decade, this vineyard consistently produces some of the greatest wines in the region.

The estate is named after its historic 15-hectare plot, "Eisele Vineyard," which was planted with Cabernet Sauvignon in 1964. Since then, Eisele Vineyard has become one of the iconic estates in California, sought after by enthusiasts and consistently adored by Parker, who awards it the highest ratings.

Its limestone soils, cooler climate, and parcel layout akin to a Bordeaux vineyard create cuvées that stand out uniquely in the American wine landscape.
