Trained alongside Telmo Rodriguez, he took over his father’s vineyards in 2004 and has since been crafting wines of striking clarity and authenticity.

Spotted by Robert Parker from his very first vintages, he has proven that this region can produce outstanding wines through organic farming and the revival of native grape varieties, all while working with exceptionally old vines.

Vintage after vintage, the 2023 Red Manchuela continues to impress. With its fresh, expressive nose of stone fruit and a subtle smoky touch, it showcases Bobal (75% of the blend) at its finest. Fermented and aged in large wooden foudres, it preserves incredible freshness and purity. Delicate, precise, and beautifully balanced, its silky tannins enhance its elegance and refinement. This is the best vintage ever produced for this cuvée—rated 98+/100 by Parker.
