Wine:

Sourced from the finest terroirs of Côte-Rôtie, often claimed in single-parcel cuvées by neighboring estates, the 2021 red Côte-Rôtie Terrasses is a powerful Syrah, aged for nearly two years in barrels of various sizes. It offers aromas of ripe fruit and spices, with a refined, elegant style and a finish that carries a delicate saline note. Already irresistible, this wine is perfect for today, while its remarkable aging potential will continue to develop gracefully for many years to come. Rated 95/100 by the Selection Committee.

Vinification:

Hand harvested, 70% destemmed. Fermentation in temperature-controlled stainless steel vats with immersed cap for 21 days. Aged on fine lees for 22 months in barrels of various sizes, 15-20% of which are new.

Color:

An intense, brilliant red.

Nose:

Black fruit aromas mixed with spicy notes.

Palate:

Straightforward and harmonious, with deep, ripe fruity flavours, this wine elegantly offers a well-built Syrah with a persistent, slightly saline finish.

Temperature:

Serve between 14 and 16°C.

Food and wine pairing:

Grainy pigeon with black pepper concasse, veal escalope with chanterelles, a ‘simple’ rib of Salers or Charolais beef.

Cellar aging:

From now until 2035 and beyond for enthusiasts.
