Wine:

The 2022 Red Mercurey Premier Cru Monopole Clos des Grands Voyens offers one of the most mineral-driven expressions of Mercurey, embodying Pinot Noir at its purest. The wine opens with an elegant, floral nose, revealing aromas of rose and raspberry. On the palate, its refined structure is complemented by subtle toasted notes from oak aging, which will integrate beautifully with time. This Premier Cru promises to reward patience, evolving gracefully in the cellar. Rated 94/100 by the Selection Committee.

Vinification:

Hand harvested. The vines are on average 42 years old. Vatting for 15 to 20 days, beginning with pre-fermentation cold maceration, with regular punching down and pumping over. Aged for 12 months in oak barrels, 30% of which are new.

Color:

Bright ruby-carmine red.

Nose:

Pure and powdery, floral notes of rose mixed with hints of wild raspberry.

Palate:

This cuvée presents a finely textured and elegant profile, with subtle toasted notes from its oak aging still integrating. A Premier Cru with significant aging potential, it promises to evolve beautifully in the bottle, rewarding patience with exceptional depth and balance.

Temperature:

Serve between 14 and 16°C in a large glass.

Roast beef, game birds, veal chop with sage, whole veal liver, roast Bresse poultry or capon and wild mushrooms.
