Wine:

Uplifted by supple tannins, the 2020 red Héritage de Chasse-Spleen is a superb benchmark for this consistently excellent estate. With the usual charm of the vintage—dense and vivid—this cuvée offers a more approachable take on the grand wine, while retaining the subtle aroma of the terroir. A resounding success!

Vinification:

Harvested by hand. Traditional vinification in temperature-controlled stainless steel and cement vats. Aged 100% in wood (5% new wood).

Color:

Deep garnet red.

Nose:

Delicate aromas of redcurrant and pepper, underlined by a light vanilla woodiness.

Palate:

Clean and precise, this cuvée reveals fine, coated tannins and magnificent flavors of juicy red cherries and black fruits. A balanced structure with a hint of spice.

Temperature:

Serve between 14 and 16°C.

Food and wine pairing:

Grilled meats or meats in sauce, entrecôte à la bordelaise with porcini mushrooms, leg of lamb with garlic and rosemary, game.
