The 2020 IGT Toscana Massetino Rosso adds a touch of cabernet franc to the merlot; it's a rich and generous wine, following in the footsteps of its counterpart. The ripe, intense fruit from a sunny vintage finds superb definition here, arguably offering the finest interpretation of this cru. This second label of Masseto has been crafted since 2017 and allows for quicker access to the domain's style. Rated 95/100 by Parker.Vinification:
Harvested by hand. De-stemming, light pressing. Vinification of each parcel separately, spontaneous fermentation using indigenous yeasts with temperature control at 25-28°C, 2 or 3 pump-overs per day, delestage if necessary, vatting for 21 to 28 days. Aged for 12 months in barrels, 50% of which are new, then blended and aged in barrels for a further 3 months before bottling.Color:
