Domaine Daniel Crochet - Sancerre - Blanc - 2022

Wine:

The 2022 White Sancerre achieves an ideal balance between crispness and fruit tenderness. Here, we journey through a beautiful tension, salinity, and perfectly ripe fruit. Anchored in a top-notch clay-limestone terroir that highlights Sauvignon Blanc in its most authentic form, this fresh, pure, and finely crafted wine will win everyone over, whether enjoyed as an aperitif, with cheeses, or with raw fish.

Vinification:

Harvested by hand. Sequential pneumatic pressing of 100% whole grapes. Fermentation in temperature-controlled stainless-steel vats at 16-22°C, aged on fine lees, lightly fined and filtered, and estate-bottled in August 2023.

Domaine in organic conversion since 2020.

Color:

Pale, bright yellow.

Nose:

Lemony aromas mingled with floral notes and fine mineral hints.

Palate:

Chiseled and precise, with fruit that is both tender and crisp. A perfect blend of freshness, purity, tension and salinity.

Temperature:

Serve between 10 and 12°C.

Food and wine pairing:

Aperitif, gougères, cheese soufflé, fish tartar, pan-fried scallops with citrus fruit, crottin de Chavignol.

Cellar aging:

From now until 2028.

Recognized by the RFV Guide, Daniel Crochet is now one of the leading figures in Sancerre. And for good reason: talented and well-rounded, he benefits from the finest plots in the Bué area and dedicates tremendous effort both in the vineyard and in the cellar. He excels equally well with his Pinot Noir as with his Sauvignon cuvées.

Each one is a perfect model of its terroir's expression, and the progress in recent vintages is impressive, with a conversion of the vineyard to organic practices.
